Pilates, originally developed as physical therapy, is an exercise-based discipline with its main focus being core awareness leading to strength and enhanced mindful movement.
The Pilates class will emphasize quality over quantity. Each class encompasses the integration of breathing with attention to the pelvic and rib cage placement, scapular movement and stabilization as well as the position of the head and spine.
Beginning classes are limited in size to give the instructor the time to provide individual attention to each member to bring them to a full understanding of the basics of this discipline. Basic equipment incorporated into each class … mats and elastic bands … provides class members the opportunity to work on the discipline at home so they can progress to the next level.
The goal of the beginning Pilates class is to teach the basics of core exercise and movement as well as awareness of the body’s core and its relationship to everyday movement.

Class sizes are limited to 10 participants. After completing a 5-session basic class, participants may select to repeat the same class or upon instructor recommendation, move onto intermediate sessions.
Individual or partner (maximum 2) Pilates mat Personal Training is available upon request.
We are now also offering gift certificates for 5-week sessions.
